Volunteers from Rochester’s Holy Apostles Church have begun a project to refurbish the church’s century-old Stations of the Cross. Project coordinator and painter Debra VanWert-Sneeringer began by extensively researching the late 1800s stations, which had been damaged and spray painted over the years. The renovated stations will receive new plaster backgrounds, detailed painting on the figures and newly sculpted portions for areas that had previously been missing. (Courier video by Jeff Witherow)
