One of the things I love most about the farm is the amazing variety of people who visit the goats. Each person pours gentle, joyous love into the babies, making them the best pets by the time they leave for new homes at 8 weeks!
Today, Cape Elizabeth High School chorus came to sing to the herd! The goats really seem to enjoy both their attention and their song!
I love the simplicity of the song lyrics because they remind me of the Ram Dass quote, “we are all just walking each other home.“ To me it has always been a wonderful reminder that our time here is limited, and that we might as well share all the best of ourselves in every way possible in the days we have together. What better way to do this then by sharing a song with baby goats. Also “home” can represent our truest self. Others who treat us well, share their light and love can help us find that center in a world that too often leads us away from our simple true heart. Mine is full after watching these amazing teenagers share their song!
