HALIDONMUSIC | Chopin: Piano Sonata No. 2 @HALIDONMUSIC | Uploaded October 2024 | Updated October 2024, 1 day ago.
Did you know? Composed in 1839 at a time when this music form was losing its popularity, Chopin's Sonata No. 2 comprises the famous funeral march and evokes reminiscences of J. S. Bach and Beethoven. The work was immediately loved by the audiences but not by the critics, and even composer Robert Schumann stated that Chopin "could not quite handle sonata form". As history proved, he couldn't have been more wrong!
