♫Chopin - Mazurka in C Minor Op.30 No.1♫

I think this is the first time I'm utilizing the left pedal, so I did feel a little stiff. I'm very used to having my left leg moving around freely! Nevertheless, I think it has really enhanced my performance. The taper off at 1:35 is really good thanks to it. The entire section from 1:17 to 1:27 is played with the left pedal down as well, because I wanted that section to be the softest part of the piece. It is also to create the biggest contrast with the motif that comes right after. That motif comes in very abruptly and loudly. Kind of like 'in your face'. That is intentional. Also, how do you like my chosen articulation/interpretation for the chordal accompaniment? Even though a piano cannot make a true portato sound, that's the very thing I was imagining there.

I ended up liking this piece a lot more while learning it. I realise this has been the case with so many other music that I've learnt. I think when you really put your heart into making every piece of music you play sound beautiful, when you really ponder over how you want to shape every single note, motif, and phrase, it's hard to not like it more. I think I can even screw my mind over to like any piece that I initially hate. If I really wanted to that is.
