♫Chopin - Prelude in E Minor Op.28 No.4♫
Believe it or not, the first time I heard this was in the middle of a TED talk by conductor Benjamin Zander about classical music (youtu.be/r9LCwI5iErE). It was many years ago, and that was kind of a small turning point for me, because it was then that I realised how much a world of a difference one could make with his own music, if only he knew how to keep the accompaniment as quiet as possible. Like a nice cosy bed for the melody to comfortably sit on.
So here is the famous Chopin Prelude in E Minor. Great for my quiet hands practice. I've been wanting to do this for a long time, but I had thought that since this would be such a fast learn, I could do it any time; no stress there really. But hey, that time has to come eventually, right?
For now, enjoy what might be my quietest video ever! Or at least until about 1:25! Turn up the volume if you have to. And let me know what you think of the climax. :)

♫Naruto - Sadness And Sorrow [Piano Cover]♫
When I decided to begin my YouTube journey back in April 2014, this was actually the very first piece of music I recorded. There was no video, just a still pic of my first digital piano (Yamaha P-155) which I have already sold away. I remember being pretty excited to showcase my first piece of work to the world, and also excited to embark on this new journey as well! Immediately after that first video, I decided to step up my game and do away with the still pics. Didnt want to dabble around for too long, so I had decided I was really going to go all in with YouTube! And so, the consistent videos began... :)
I actually saw Kyle Landry perform live in a concert here in Singapore back then, just before I began making these piano performance videos on YouTube. You could say I was inspired into taking some massive action. And hohoho, look where I am today! Its been one hell of a ride, and definitely one very fulfilling journey. :)
Btw, just about a month to go before this channel officially turns 3 years old. :)

Those trills!! I had many restarts/retakes because of them. Some ended on the upper note. Some had missing notes inside. And some had the last note accented. Grr... I had to really practise those, it wasnt easy getting them to sound swift and light. I think thats the hardest thing in this piece, and Im not kidding at all, lol.
