these are improvised moments recorded at Altamira Studios in Los Angeles on August 5 2024.
Track one was recorded in the afternoon. Tracks 2, 3, & 4 were recorded in the evening with a live studio audience.
I have long wanted to come back to my first instrument. The piano has been my close friend & sometimes enemy since I was about 3 years old. I needed a long break from the acoustic world in order to hear it as fresh again. This being my 8th chiquitamagic album, and ten years into this project, it felt like time to come back to it. Hope you enjoy. Todo lo que hago es con mucho amor e intención. Espero lo disfruten.
ps. Largely inspired by Paul Bley and his approach to improvised piano & music as a whole. The intention being feeling the energy in the room and in the moment. Never to control it but rather be a vessel for it.
