Anglers returned to the Feather River at the Oroville Wildlife Area as California reopened a full recreational Chinook salmon fishing season in the Sacramento River system. The fishery had been closed for three years after salmon populations fell to critically low levels, but improved water conditions, habitat restoration and increased hatchery production helped support its return in 2026.
