For the first time ever, Chinese engineers showcased a sixth-generation aerospace fighter jet at a recent airshow. The Aviation Industry Corporation of China is the manufacturer of this state-of-the-art aircraft, which goes by the name Baidi, or White Emperor, and is intended to serve as a comprehensive aerospace fighter. It can travel at supersonic speeds and leave Earth's atmosphere if needed.

The White Emperor project is being developed under the Nantianmen Scientific and Educational Initiative, which focuses on the technologies of the future. In August 2024, China successfully conducted the maiden test flight of its latest unmanned cargo aircraft. The trials took place at Fengming Airport, located in Sichuan Province in the southwest of the country.
