China has launched the first suspended maglev line in history. The Skytrain can remain airborne for an endless amount of time without the need for a power source thanks to neodymium magnets. In contrast to the majority of current maglevs, the new suspended train travels at up to 80 km/h while operating at a height of around 10 meters above the ground. Because of the frictionless atmosphere and free-floating circumstances, the train only needs a little amount of power to move, according to its inventors at Jiangxi University of Science and Technology. They said that the new maglev technology requires a tenth of the construction expenses of a subway system and produces very little electromagnetic radiation. Following many trial runs, the route will be expanded to 7.5 kilometers with a maximum operating speed of 120 kilometers per hour, according to the local transport authority.
