The world’s first 250,000-tonne-metre ring rail crane rolled off the production line on Monday at China Sany's industrial park in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province.
Tailor-made for the Hualong One 2.0 nuclear power plant construction, this extraordinary crane delivers a 250,000-tonne lifting capacity and 350,000 tonne metres of lifting moment.
The crane features an all-electric drive system with zero emissions and low noise, and its operating cost is only one-quarter of that of fuel-powered models.
It is also equipped with a full suite of digital technologies, providing comprehensive safety protection for nuclear construction.
China Sany began R&D on ultra-large-tonnage lifting equipment in 2019, and has since achieved a breakthrough from zero to independent innovation.
This new prototype will now enter a commissioning phase of approximately three months, with delivery expected by January 2027 and site deployment at nuclear projects scheduled for mid‑2027.
Overseas customers from Europe and Japan have already expressed purchase interest.
