hey pals,

now that we’re at home in quarantine & self isolation, you’d think that i have time to do all the things i’ve been wanting to do but reality is a big NOPE. i’m spending a big chunk of my time working so i thought i’d dedicate today to Doing Things I Wanted to Do Even or Especially When It’s Unproductive.

it was v refreshing & i would highly recommend!!! i spent a solid 10 minutes justifying to myself why i “deserve” or “should” take a day off which is,,, pretty sad & problematic. we live in a society that praises productivity but it can be very difficult & emotionally taxing at a time like this. this NYT article is great: nytimes.com/2020/04/01/style/productivity-coronavirus.html?referringSource=articleShare

so!! don’t feel too bad if you need to chill or “do nothing” for the day. i know a lot of people are probably taking days off, but do what you need – be it productive days or unproductive days.
