In this video I look back at the movies, TV shows, and video games that filled my childhood. Some of these were huge cultural moments at the time, others were just things I happened to stumble across, but all of them stuck with me for one reason or another.
I talk about growing up with movies like King Kong (1933), Pirates of the Caribbean, Nacho Libre, Napoleon Dynamite, the early MCU with Iron Man and The Avengers, the strange experience of watching Green Lantern (2011) when it came out, along with kaiju films like Godzilla vs. Hedorah and later Pacific Rim.
On the TV side I revisit shows like Regular Show, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, My Babysitter’s a Vampire, and some of the network shows I remember watching on ABC like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Resurrection. I even somehow owned a Family Guy episode on a UMD disc for the PSP.
I also go through the games I grew up playing across different consoles. Early PlayStation memories like Crash Bandicoot 2 and a Rapala fishing game that never worked right, the PSP era with Daxter, Hot Shots Golf 2, LEGO Star Wars II, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, the Wii years with Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Fit, Mario Kart, and Godzilla Unleashed, and eventually the Xbox 360 with games like Halo Reach, Minecraft, and Just Cause 2.
Just a look back at the random mix of media that made up my childhood.
