Classic Chicago and North Western features Fred Crissey's silent 8mm film footage from 1977 to 1983.
The program begins with C&NW's branch line between Ames and Des Moines Iowa. Then it is off to the main line from Blair, Nebraska to Glen Ellyn, Illinois. You will see fast freights along with several scenes of C&NW steam locomotive number 1385. This train was captured running an excursion from Omaha, Nebraska to Ames, Iowa. Finally, we visit Dead Man’s Curve in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Here we see many mainline trains, along with early Metra commuters.
