After being yeeted into Ranon (world where Checkmate be) by Gerald reking her code, Leif gets tangled up with some members of Checkmate. Wither attacking Rose and being taken down as a result. Due to her display of powers, Brim takes her back to recruit her into the clan.

Checkmate was formed under the goal of taking down the PMYCA, an organisation from Skiefarien (Leif's world oof) that aims to cleanse the mindless and corrupted filth that are the powerborn (people who have powers, born with it or not)

Leif eventually grows a close bond with the clan, able to reduce the effects of her embedded fear of males. She is able to feel at ease with the members and treats them all like a big family.
