I'm switching my everyday development environment over to an LXD container and one of the shortcomings is that there are many things you might like to do that you don't have enough root admin like access. Normally a sudo bumps you up to sufficient permission levels, but not so with an unprivileged LXD container. It's rigged to keep you from shooting yourself int the foot and against hackers for when these containers are actually deployed in a server farm in the wild.
Well in this context nobody's going to be able to reach your containers but you, so it's okay. In this video I take the first step switching to privileged mode. I didn't fix my excessively tight host-mapped .ssh directory problem yet but this is surely a step in the right direction.
