Back here after a year.
It's onto our second Holiday Train event of the year as we find ourselves back at the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum in North Judson, IN to chase their annual Santa Train. While last year's consist just saw the museum's two SDM units and two of the museum's coaches, this year was different as it saw former EJ&E 818 take charge of a five car consist along the HVRM's mainline, the snow on the ground made for a nice contrast as this former EJ&E SDM made it's way through the snowy Indiana countryside which was amplified by it's nice sounding P5 horn. In addition to the 818 running we also got a look at some of the museum's equipment such as JBCX 814 (a DMIR SDM), the two BL2, some of the other diesels at the museum, a kiddie ride made to look like an ICG F-Unit, and the tender of C&O 2789, all in all it was a fun day. Maybe next year we'll make it out here during the summer. Enjoy!
