Happy 250th everyone!
Today marks 250 years since the United States Of America declared it's independence and became it's own country, and while this year for the states has been well... bad, a lot of the train events this year have been pretty solid. Of course, IRM was no exception as I made my way to the museum for the Fourth Of July to see the first official revenue run of Amtrak F40PHR #231 at the IRM as it was rostered to pull the coach train for Saturday, and despite the rain, it was fitting that I spent the Fourth with one of America's most iconic diesel locomotives on it's for solo run in 20 years. Also included were of course Shay 5, the electrics, and even CNW 6847 was fired up to get some work done on her. All in all, it was a good day at IRM, happy Fourth everyone, stay safe out there.
