On September 9 1949 Down Beat magazine printed an interview with Bebop Jazz legend Charlie Parker. Since that date scholars have been arguing about just what he actually meant in many of his statements. In this series I try to give a theoretical explaination, explaining how his remarks may lead to the origins of Bebop Scales.
