Jagex recently updated the beta servers to allow people to do quests as well as dominion tower. With the dominion tower they updated goliath, spellcaster, and swift gloves.
I think they went a bit overboard since they decided to make them exactly equivalent to the their chaotic counterparts. They are all also classed as weapons rather than gloves now. In terms of their logic with updating gear it makes some sense though. Stats seem to be based soley on the item weild requirements and both the gloves and the chaotics require 80 attack/range/mage.

I think they should be downgraded just because they are way too easy to get back when you lose them and it isn't fair to people with chaotics who spend a long time getting them back.
