How much backing should l put on my fly fishing reel? The video demonstrates how to find out the necessary length of backing line that your reel needs. I use a casting reel to determine the length of the existing line that is sitting on the reel, and by knowing this length it is possible to have a good estimate the line holding capacity of your arbor.
