At around LV70, I had to give up shattering steel. it had decent single target DPS but clear speed was terrible. I honestly dont recommend the build as a league starter. I played pure phys double strike for a while, which was a very easy switch. (all u really need is just the main links switched to: Vaal double strike - Ancestral Cal - Melee splash - Melee Phys - Brutality - Maim, in this order of priority)
Now, I respecced into Cast-on-crit Lancing ice spear. Its really fun but it is a completely different build. Basically, the lancing steel causes a critical strike, and ice spear/freeze pulse shoots out. This can happen every .150 seconds because that is the cooldown on the Cast-on-Crit gem. Lancing is nice because it has range and also some projectiles that shoot out with a delay. This delay works together nicely with the .150 sec cool down. 1 use of Lancing can trigger multiple COCs. Lancing can get mana on hit, which is on my jewels. The every ice spear can hit the same enemy. Ice spear is doing the most damage. Freeze pulse is nice for clearing quickly.
The reason Deadeye is nice is because you get a ton of proj damage, atk speed, accuracy, crit chance, and crit multi, all of which are necessary for this build. Also, the 30 life on hit is insanely good because it works for every hit, including spells. On the tree, Im primarily taking life, proj damage, atk speed, global/atk/spell crit chance, crit multi, and proj speed. Since ice spear already has 600% increased crit chance at baseline, you dont need much spell crit chance. Focus more on atk crit chance instead.
Its not MinMaxed at all. From here on, I need more levels, gem levels, more life, diamond rings, and dodge chance. Notice the spell damage crafted on the sword. This used to not be possible previously.

One of my goals was BLIGHTWELL Amulet + Permanent VAAL DISCIPLINE for 400% increased ES recharge rate + permanent recharge. Recharge is 20% of ES per second by default, so 400% increased would be 100% ES per second recovered. I also have regen and recharge rate on tree, making the recovery over 100%.
The Shackles gloves + kaoms boots + self-temp chains + max curse effect enables the duration of all buffs and flasks to extend 3.73 times. I currently have 123% increased curse effect (4% jewel, 40% tree, 25% ascendancy, 14% shield, 30% helm enchant, 10% curse on hit). I had to max out on curse effect to make this build work.
Vaal RF is usually only 4 seconds long, but mine lasts 36 seconds. And Vaal discipline lasts 27 seconds.
Usually, increasing duration of Vaal skills will increase the soul gain prevention duration, which makes the skill increasingly less permanent. Therefore, increasing duration is usually not recommended. However, because of the self-temp chains on this build, increasing duration actually increases the non-soul gain prevention time.
The Soul Catcher flask makes it easier to keep using Vaal RF and Vaal Discipline. However, you cannot gain mana during its effect, which is why I have reduced mana rings and flask.
The curse effect shield is pretty rare. It only drops in delve. But Jun can craft up to 10% curse effect on the shield.
Blade vortex procs Ele Equilibrium, Ele Overload, temp chains, self-temp chains, and enfeeble. And it lasts like 40 seconds. Its pretty good.
The mana flask is unnecessary right now but will be necessary if I level the scorching ray to 19+. Another option is a lavianga flask. The writhing jar is useful for when the temp chains runs out in the middle of nowhere. If I cannot find enemies, I cannot self-temp chains and the build fails. (Self-temp chains should never run out if I am paying attention, but I sometimes forget)
To improve the build, Id include a mana as ES watchers eye for a huge ES boost.")
