Sometimes, the line between politics and corruption can be blurry, and the case of Chaka Fattah is no exception. Chaka Fattah is an American politician who served as a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives for Pennsylvania's 2nd congressional district from 1995 to 2016.

It is not uncommon for politicians to be accused of wrongdoing, but what sets Fattah's case apart is the scope of the alleged racketeering and influence-peddling conspiracy he was implicated in. It raises the question: to what extent do politicians use their positions of power for personal gain? Despite being convicted and sentenced to ten years in prison, the United States Court of Appeals later overturned Fattah's bribery convictions.

On July 12, 2019, a federal judge in Philadelphia sentenced Fattah to ten years in federal prison for public corruption. He was released from prison in 2020.
