These are one of the strongest weapons on Bayonetta but they don't work well against most bosses.. They move out of range constantly or just dodge the followup hits. They are highly effective against some of the tankier standard enemies like Fairness and Fearless though. I recommend turning Witch Twist off if your using the slower weapons, there's a lot of endlag on the combo finishers so jump cancels help a lot.
Their either never in range or they just dodge or block most hits. The Stilleto move and 360 attack are amazing though. You can actually do a Just Release on pretty much every attack on the Chainsaws.
The problem with Bayonetta is that she doesn't get enough Witch Time to land multiple hits with the chainsaws and their really awkward to dodge offset with. Jeanne gets longer Witch Time but the Chainsaws have no Wicked Weaves at all so she doesn't get any damage increase.
