Lance has been godlike in every souls game.. Elden Ring is no exception. It always had the best running attacks in the game, and now it's twice as effective with power stancing.
Spectral Lance doesn't do a ton of damage but it does do a ridiculous amount of Posture damage which can lead to big combos. Giant Hunt is a nice alternative for launching small mid-size enemies and setting up stagger combos.
