This live webcast from our Cardinal & Gray Fall Lecture on October 18, 2023, features Miho Mazereeuw, MIT associate professor of architecture and urbanism and director of the MIT Urban Risk Lab.

Before joining MIT, professor Mazereeuw taught design at Harvard University and the University of Toronto. As an Arthur W. Wheelwright Fellow, she is currently writing a book titled “Preemptive Design: Disaster and Urban Development along the Pacific Ring of Fire.” Her expertise in architecture, urbanism, and climate change positions her at the forefront of interdisciplinary climate preparedness studies.

The MIT Urban Risk Lab serves as an interdisciplinary hub for design research and climate action, enhancing community resilience and collective capacity to adapt to climate change.
