Southern Illinois Public Observers

In the course of investigating a bomb threat at the Centralia High School in Centralia, IL, during full lock-down of the campus, an officer saw an unidentified white car driving in the parking lot and attempted to intercept it to ascertain what the driver was doing. The police report indicates that Patrol Officer Billy White lost sight of the white car while trying to catch up to it. Apparently, the driver of the white car made a turn to cross the path of the patrol vehicle while the white car was out of the sight of the officer attempting to catch it. When Officer Billy White regained sight of the car, it was traveling across his path, and he crashed into the side of the car, according to the police report.
