#Medical #research benefits people worldwide, but many aren't aware of the corresponding worldwide effort that goes into achieving research breakthroughs and translating them into benefits for patients. This short video highlights some of our key achievements in #international collaborative research.

MRC’s international partnerships enhance the competitiveness of the UK knowledge and health base, and influence the international research agenda.

MRC enables international research collaboration through bilateral agreements with overseas research funding agencies. It also represents the UK on the governing bodies of international biomedical research organisations, and helps fund them on behalf of the UK. These organisations include:
- The European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP)
- The European Molecular Biology Laboratory
- The European Molecular Biology Organisation
-The Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases
- The Human Frontier Science Programme
- The International Agency for Research on Cancer
