A shore excursion off the Carnival Inspiration cruise ship out of Long Beach, California. This took place on the second day of the cruise, stopping at Santa Catalina Island, approximately 26 miles off the coast of California. This shore excursion was a dolphin watching trip on a small boat, the Scuba Cat. This was the first trip of the day out of Avalon Harbor, so there were very few of us on Scuba Cat, so we had the full run of the boat and could get great shots at all times as you will soon see.
We literally just cruised the coastline and the dolphins kind of found us, first following the boat in our wake and then overtook us and were playing off the bow.
Note their grace and speed, what a wonderful experience to see up close.
