Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for Sony PlayStation One.
Released by Konami in 1997.
This is a casual walkthrough.
- No complex commands. Meaning no Hellfire, Soul Steal, or Wing Smash. Also, no Dash Attack as Richter.
- Door transitions are done using the wolf instead of doing the jump kick into the bat. Using Wolf is much easier and doesn't lose that much time. Also, kicking into bat form has been reduced overall.
- No sequence breaks or glitch exploitation of any kind.
- Some strategies have been adjusted to compensate. Such as using the Stopwatch on Doppelganger, Using the Holy Water on the Hippogryph, and using the Shield Rod/Iron Shield combo on Minotaur and Werewolf.
One thing I keep forgetting to do is to grab a stopwatch before going into the reverse climb with the Heaven Knights. I started picking up the Power of Sire and using it there as a result and surely enough, this recording was no different. It's nice to have a backup plan, and doing this the way I normally do it when I forget the Stopwatch takes some serious practice.
Emulator Used: BizHawk 2.2.1
Shader Used: 4xBRZ
Run Time: 1h30m56s
Run Difficulty: Easy
Once you get the hang of completing the game this way, it's recommended that you try adapting the strategies from my advanced video.
For the record, for the remaining bosses, in the regular castle, you'll be using the Shield Rod/Iron Shield combo. In the Inverted Castle, you'll be using the Shield Rod/Alucard Shield combo.
