New record for low% with an ever-evolving route. Sub-30 eventually? I hope so.
This run completes Dawn of Sorrow with the minimal number of souls required. Grabbing extra souls and then releasing them or fusing them to weapons is not allowed. The souls that either cannot be avoided or are required to complete the game are 1 Skeleton, 1 Armor Knight, 1 Golem, 1 Flying Armor, and 1 Succubus.
One could argue that Malphas could be used as a substitute for Succubus, but the problem with this is that any ability soul you get besides Balore as your first one will give you an additional ability. Because of this peculiarity with the game, I use Succubus to keep it in the spirit of true low%.
The oddest thing about the route is going through boss rush mid-run. This is done so I can obtain the RPG, which is the only weapon in this setting that can do any substantial damage on the final boss, Menace. I buy the Masamune beforehand to help take down the two bosses I actually need to fight much faster. The other main points in the route are cutscenes that unlock more items in the shop.
This run is a lot of fun, and I look forward to improving it sometime! Hopefully there are more runners who try it one day. It's at least an interesting challenge run, if nothing else. -- Watch live at twitch.tv/romscout

WATCH THE NEW RECORD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQzTQ-5rNbs
As far as I know, this is the first console speed run of SotN to be completed in under 20 minutes. This isnt a very good run and is definitely far from being submittable to SDA, but I figured since it was perhaps a bit of a milestone for speed running the game that it might be nice to upload.
This is the world record as of 2/20/2012, but this time will probably be crushed very soon so whatever. If you want to see me do live attempts of this run, follow http://twitch.tv/romscout and check the schedule for when Im doing runs of the game. I missed a skip entirely and messed up a lot, but hopefully you still enjoy this run! Expect a better one soon.
