The Castle of San Giorgio Piacentino is a fortification located in the center of the municipality of the same name, in the province of Piacenza. The castle is located not far from the Nure River in the open Po Valley. The castle, built of stone and brick, used to frame doors and windows, has a quadrangular structure with an internal courtyard. The building features a single, tall quadrangular tower on the main façade, near the base of which is the entrance, which also serves as a separator between the main building and the tower, similar to the castle of Vigolzone. Above the entrance is a small L-shaped wooden balcony. Over time, it has undergone numerous alterations, especially in the 18th century, which refined its appearance and included filling in the moat and eliminating the drawbridge, replacing it with a masonry bridge. Following these modifications, the castle is composed of easily identifiable sections: the southern, eastern, and, partially, northern façades have two floors above ground, while the western façade and a portion of the northern façade have three floors.
