Sarmato Castle is a large fortified complex located in the town of Sarmato, in the province of Piacenza. Located in the lower Tidone valley, not far from both the Tidone and the Po in the Po Valley. The complex, built entirely of brick, is surrounded by walls, still clearly visible even if they partly show signs of time, which were surrounded by a moat. They enclose a small village with a rectangular plan, which is divided into two perpendicular streets, with houses, the oratory of San Carlo Borromeo, the castle, the fortress, which was accessed via a drawbridge, of which the hinges are still clearly visible.
