On its surface, Cassti's third chapter is a filler arc, not unlike Agnea's. It's just a bunch of talk and exposition in a town, without any actual combat. However, what distinguishes this chapter isn't the fact you face an enemy in combat, but the fact it's one big Wham Episode where Cassti finally remembers every little bit of the lost memories she had from the past, and why she was there.
Her unfaltering ally and guide, Malaya, was in fact dead the whole time and was just a fragment of her mind guiding her along to remember and work past the trauma. And it finally worked. I have to applaud Cassti's mental fortitude, I do not know if most people would be able to handle something of this magnitude without more outward signs of emotional damage.
