Relief woodcarving can be deceptively tricky but once you figure out the right chisels that suit your style then you can carve most things with relative ease, provided you get plenty of practice! This rabbit design should be fine as a woodcarving for beginners project.

I recently got a sideboard for free which had a warped top, I decided to take it off and re use the wood to make a small shelving unit. This is a fairly simple woodworking project though the joints require plenty of attention! It was the first time I tried diagonal wedged tenons which was out of my comfort zone a little but it worked out ok in the end.

A friend asked for a Fallout themed box with Vault Boy carved on the lid. I used oak and Sapele to make a nice contrast on the lid and with splines on the corner of the box. This is a rather more complex woodworking project than Im used to but it was a lot of fun and Im glad I tried it.
The carving was achieved with a fairly small number of chisels that were pretty cheap, I tend to go onto eBay to find old and decent carving chisels and restore them to working order. The corners are rebates and then kept together with splines, I tend to do a pre glue up of the sides and then add the splines afterwards. Im not sure if its the best way but it tends to keep everything together.

I make a lot of boxes but have never been able to make one with mitre joints due to using hand tools only, various other jigs and methods havent worked. So I decided to try and make a mitre jig for my shooting board to solve my problem.
This is a pretty simple build which requires some accuracy to get it to work properly but will be worth it in the end. To be honest I have found it to work rather well but it is still far from giving me the perfect mitres which I desire.

Wanting to push myself I decided to try and make a replica of Gendrys War Hammer from Game of Thrones. I built this hammer live entirely on Twitch and it includes lathe work, carving, dowel making and even some paper mache and painting. Its quite different from my usual projects but I like to branch out now and then.
The handle is made from what I think is teak and the bottom and top finial is made from ash as is the spike. The larger parts of the hammer are made from plywood laminated together and then turned and carved.
