*UPDATE 5/21/15* - I've had great success with these things. However, "buzzing season" is almost over for the summer. You only catch bees in the spring and fall with a trap like this.

Building a couple of bee traps, specifically designed to catch carpenter bees. These are simple enough to put together. I just hope they work!
