These 3 day old cardinal chicks are growing quickly! They are getting stronger and require more food from their parents. The mother has been leaving the nest for longer durations to find food. She still broods them frequently though. Their eyes are still completely closed but should start showing signs of opening soon. The third egg is still in the nest and has not hatched. It will stay like this for the rest of the nesting period. Overall a comfortable day in the nest for these tiny chicks!
