Many carburetor tuning problems are actually caused by issues outside the carburetor itself. Before making adjustments, you need to verify fuel delivery, fuel pressure, ignition timing, vacuum leaks, engine temperature, and overall engine condition. Starting with the basics can save hours of frustration and prevent chasing tuning problems that aren't actually carburetor related.
