Everyone says a 500 CFM carburetor is too small for a Chevy 350... but is that actually true?
In this video, I put that claim to the test by installing and tuning an Edelbrock AVS2 500 CFM carburetor on my small block Chevy powered GMC truck. Instead of relying on opinions, internet forums, or outdated carburetor myths, we're using air/fuel ratio (AFR) data, real-world driving, and step-by-step carburetor tuning to see exactly what the engine wants.
You'll see the complete tuning process including idle mixture adjustment, cruise AFR, acceleration, wide open throttle readings, and how small calibration changes affect engine performance. Along the way, I'll explain why choosing the correct carburetor size depends on the engine combination, intended use, and airflow requirements—not simply installing the biggest carburetor you can find.
