Using an over 40 year old macro lens to capture carbon fiber in detail.
This lens was gifted to me by my dad. He found this lens his dad owned and thought I might have some use for it.
He told me that my granddad, who I never knew unfortunatly, was into photography.
it's kind of heartwarming to find some good use for this lens, being carbon fiber and photography as well.

Applying the idea to carbon-fiber hollow tubes: You can use a sacrificial wax core shaped like the desired tube interior. Wrap carbon-fiber fabric/filament around the wax core with resin, cure it, then melt out the wax to leave a clean, smooth hollow carbon-fiber tube.$
