In this video I'll take you through the process of making a carbon fiber plate with a high gloss finish starting from a glass plate as a mould.
The glass plate was firstly wiped with some release agent to ensure a good demoulding with a high gloss. For the release agent I've used the Chemical release agent from easycomposites. To make the plate I've used a few layers of a 650g/m² Carbonfiber 12K with two layers of soric lantor 2mm stacked on each other.
On top of the stack you will have a vacuumbag that is applied to the glass plate with tacky tape or gumtape to ensure a full vacuum. No peelply or infusionmesh would be needed but by conclusion of this testsample I would highly recommend you to use a peelply and infusion mesh to have a better epoxy resin distribution through the part!
