I'm working on an arrangement of Caravan, composed by Juan Tizol and made popular by Duke Ellington.
This is just the first practice session as I work out different ideas. I'm also checking compression and sound quality with this upload.
This is just the tune without the bridge. I'll have to do something with the drum track for the bridge.
Oh, I also cracked myself up at 1:25 by playing a lick I think I heard Al Hirt play years ago. I wasn't planning on jiving it up, but there it came out of my horn!
Anyway, this was recorded just a few minutes ago July 25, 2010. Still liking my new ribbon mic. ;-)

“Whats Next? an jazz original composition. I wrote this little jazz tune 35 years ago when I was in college.
So, here it is again, this little jazz tune. I’ve posted two other versions over the years with different accompaniments. In this version, I’m using the flugelhorn track from 2014 but everything else is new. Since I’m learning to play the drums, I thought I’d do a “remix” version. I hope you enjoy! Thanks for listening!!!
