Aluminum beverage cans are a true circular packaging solution, recycled again and again with no loss of quality.
But while 97% of recycled cans become new cans, the U.S. recycling rate dropped to just 43% in 2023. That’s not a materials problem, it’s a systems problem.
The industry is pushing to raise that rate to 70% by 2030 and 90%+ by 2050 through stronger infrastructure, better policies, and increased consumer participation. The can is already the most recycled beverage package, and we know we can do better!
