The CBC is reporting that Canadian taxpayers have paid more for protection for Prince Harry than any other international figure visiting the country over the last five years. According to documents obtained by the CBC, the RCMP spent over half a million dollars protecting Prince Harry during events like the Invictus Games as well as when he came to the country to date Meghan Markle. Among the list of notable people who get RCMP protection are Donald Trumpās children, former U.S. presidents and their wives, and several ambassadors and heads of other countriesā intelligence services. Should Canadian taxpayers be on the hook for protection for notable non-Canadians during personal visits?
