The 2027 Met Gala theme will be “John Galliano: Horizons,” celebrating the career of the controversial fashion designer. Galliano, who was the creative director of Dior for 14 years, is mired in controversy for making antisemitic statements in 2011. A court found him guilty of hate speech, and he was later fired from Dior. This marks only the third time the Met Gala has honoured a living designer. Should the Met Gala have chosen such a controversial theme?
