Canadian National (CN) freight trains throughout the Chicagoland area, from 2023. From the far Western suburbs, to the Illinois / Indiana state line, CN railway has a rather large presence in the Chicagoland area. Various railroad mergers and acquisitions have led to this, with most being from the former EJ&E and Illinois Central railroads. Freight trains from every direction and destination come through here, and traffic is plenty.
