Canada is fighting back in a new trade war with the United States by mirroring the Trump administration's new 50% tariffs on hundreds of Canadian products, a move the country's finance minister said is designed to level the playing field.
On Tuesday, leaders of the Canadian Department of Finance announced tariffs ranging from 15 to 50% on 27.6 billion Canadian dollars worth of American-made products, a near dollar-for-dollar match of President Donald Trump's tariffs on $20 billion worth of Canadian goods that took effect late last week.
