Can you Offer Crested Gecko Diet Without Adding Water? The BEST way to Offer CGD to Crested & Day Geckos.
It's a simple enough question, but nothing amongst reptile keepers ever has a simple answer...
When it comes to crested gecko feeding (and day gecko feeding, for that matter), there are plenty of misconceptions. Moreover, people have plenty of questions about gecko feeding in general: which is the best complete crested gecko food? Do you need to feed them insects? How much should they eat? I have answered all of these questions before... except one. What happens if you don't add water to Repashy, Pangea, or any other meal replacement powder?
As ever, there are two schools of thought, with some saying that dry CGD is perfectly safe, whereas others claim that even attempting to get your gecko to eat such will lead to its death through dehydration (a somewhat shocking prospect, might I add). I decided to test this out for myself.
In today's video, I talk about the optimal way to make crested gecko diet, having spent over a year on an experiment to discover if water is really necessary. You might be surprised by the result!
