Today I’m working on a Macintosh SE/30 logic board that’s had a recap go wrong, with some pads torn clean off. I’ll be assessing the damage, installing new capacitors, and restoring connectivity to get this board back in working condition. Expect microscope work, trace repair, and plenty of problem solving along the way. If you’re into vintage Mac restoration or board-level repair, this should be a good one.

Part 1 of the Macintosh IIfx build got almost all of the small, passive components in place, and I finished off the last few the following day. In this episode Ill be migrating the surface mount ICs from the old board to the new, so it will be a good demonstration of solder rework and surface mount soldering. Lets see how far I can get!
