One thing that has always driven me batty about Final Cut Pro's built-in shape mask effect is the distorted round corners when the shape is anything other than a perfect square. In just a few steps, use Apple's Motion software to create your own custom shape mask that will see the end of distorted corners forever!

Today I’m working on a Macintosh SE/30 logic board that’s had a recap go wrong, with some pads torn clean off. I’ll be assessing the damage, installing new capacitors, and restoring connectivity to get this board back in working condition. Expect microscope work, trace repair, and plenty of problem solving along the way. If you’re into vintage Mac restoration or board-level repair, this should be a good one.
