The appeal for many countries to join the European Union has almost always revolved around economic issues but with the US-Israeli war on Iran, some states are now looking to Brussels to address security concerns.
At a time when the US President Donald Trump is threatening to pull out of NATO, nations such as Norway, Greenland and Iceland are some of the countries looking to restart talks to join the bloc.
Trump's threats to take over Greenland have also shaken many nations, particularly polar regions.
The EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, says growing the bloc is about security. So, are Trump and Netanyahu inadvertently creating a stronger EU?
